Judith Basin County Fairboard Minutes

7-10-17

Following a walk-through of the fairgrounds inspecting the recent start of construction on the expansion barn, the board met briefly.

Call to order by Charlie Hill @ 7:30 pm, Dawnita Sampsel, Sigrid Deegan, Jason Oltrogge, Billie Jo Holzer, Bruce Neumann, and Katie Hatlelid present.

Minutes were approved as read

Treasurers report – no change in the sale fund and Katie reported that the board had been granted $10,000 in the supply line this year to help with the cost of the barn.

Old Business

Fairgrounds improvements

-          Barn expansion – progress is happening!  The permits are in, the holes are dug for the posts, and construction is hopefully going to be completed by fair time. 

-          Funding – through grants and donations, the board has raised $29,850 to date.

o   $10,000, CMF; $5,000, 4-H clubs;$5,000, 4-H Council; $1,000 NWFCS; $1,000 Ag Building Committee; $350 MDA Grant received by Geyser & Stanford Clubs; $7,500, fairboard supply line. 

-          Panels – Katie will get an updated bid, estimated 10-12 thousand for this barn only.

Scale inspection

-          Will happen next week July 17-21

-          Charlie will confirm with Jayson Shobe

New Business

Sale Clerk and Ringmen – Marilyn and Dan Deichmann won’t be available this year, Dawnita will contact Meredith Phillipe for clerking duties

 

Meat delivery – Dawnita would like to have the meat delivery date solid before the sale so we can notify buyers then

 

Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday August 10th in the evening if necessary.  IF not, we will meet post-fair.
