Judith Basin County Weed Board Minutes

April 23, 2019

Call to order by Rod Mikkelsen @ 5:10 pm

Present: John Bodner, John McCray, Jim Kulish, Rod Mikkelsen, Roger Riley, Michelle Lynn, Katie Hatlelid

Minutes were read by Secretary Hatlelid, John B moved (John M) to approve as corrected. Motion passed

There was no new public comment, an update on previous comment was made. The license plate bill did not pass, and Dave Burch has retired.

Old Business:

Grant results – The NWTF grant of $7,500 was received again this year. $20,000 was approved for the Pig Eye White Top grant. The first year of this grant was 2009, and so far $154,000 has been received.

Bio Control Workshop – The invoice for the Biocontrol Project was paid for $400. Katie will work with Melissa Maggio again this summer to get a workshop and collection scheduled for Geyser.

Noxious Weed Management Plan Update – Copies of the current plan were distributed, it is updated every two years. Ventenata will be added to the state noxious weed list this summer.

Board member renewal – Jim Kulish is up this year, he has yet to decide.

New Business:

Arrow Creek Breaks White Top Grant – An Environmental Assessment will be needed for a new grant area. John M moved (Jim K) to go forward with the EA and the grant writing for the Arrow Creek Breaks area. Motion passed.
