Judith Basin County Fairboard Minutes

4-16-18

Call to order 6:05 pm by Chairman Janet Wertheimer. Dawnita Sampsel, Sigrid Deegan, Powell Becker, Jason Oltrogge, J. Wertheimer, and Katie Hatlelid present.

Jason moved (Sigrid 2^nd) to approve the minutes as read. Motion passed

Treasurer’s report – Dawnita reported there is 4,900 in the sale account, and -1,600 in the budget line. The CMF grant has been applied for.

No public comment

Old Business:

Barn

-a walk through will be conducted as soon as conditions and timing allows

-doors, windows, etc.

-panels will cost $3,240 to complete the set in the new barn, Katie will work with WRS to get them ordered.

-the stampede club will hang the bird net as soon as the proper lift equipment is lined up.

-electrical service to the barn will be investigated

Fair

-Dedication for Brian Hoven was received and approved.

- Schedule update, still looking for a few events to fill the time slots

-Scale inspection-B & L Scales out of Billings will come inspect again.

- Food booth, looking for a supervisor

-Parking to remain the same as last year, no parking in the small area to the south of the arena. Stampede club will let us borrow the parking signs.

-Judges are contracted minus the small animal judge

-Sigrid will coordinate the school exhibits again, Katie will contact Linda Deegan for Hall sitting

-Barn Superintendents, Sara Stevenson-swine, Kim V./Kelly Mikkelson-sheep/goat, ask Jerod Hill again for Beef

-Sale Auctioneer, Shobe and Jedlicka will be available again

-Woodchips/shavings

Powell moved (Dawnita 2^nd) to purchase sufficient shavings for the pens for fair. Motion passed

New Business

Little Wrangler Schedule

-Dates for the rodeos are June 5^th, 12^th, July 17^th, 24^th. Sherry Berg will be following up with paperwork and proof of insurance.
