Judith Basin County Weed Board Minutes
April 12, 2018
Call to Order Lowell Hodge @ 1:07pm
Present were Lowell Hodge, John McCray, John Bodner, Rod Mikkelsen, Jim Kulish, Roger Riley, Michelle Lynn, and Katie Hatlelid.
Minutes were presented by Secretary Katie Hatlelid. John B. moved (Rod M. 2nd) to approve the minutes as presented. Motion passed

Old Business:
Grant Results – Michelle applied for the Noxious Weed Trust Fund Grant at $31,000 and we received $16,000. The past two years JB County has received $16,000 and $17,000. Also received was the $7,500 grant that is routine to most counties in the state. It will be used as in the past to compensate for grant writing.
BioControl Workshop – Katie will coordinate with Melissa Maggio to schedule a collection day for the spotted knapweed insects with a workshop to accompany the collection. Lowell moved (John M. 2nd) to donate $400 to the Montana Bio Control Project. Motion passed
Mower – the mowers that the road dept. uses to keep weeds and ditches mowed down are in need of replacement and repair. John M moved (Lowell 2nd) to recommend equipment upgrades to begin with a mower.
New Business:
Nox. Weed Mgmt Plan update – every two years the NWMP must be updated, approved, and filed with the state. Michelle has updated the plan, and the board reviewed the plan. John B moved (Rod 2nd) to approve the update to the NWMP for 2018-2020. Motion Passed
Roncor Mine property – Mark Schlepp brought to the attention of the board that there are some weed issues next to the Judith River Wildlife Mgmt area that need to be addressed. Roger and Michelle will make a few inquiries and follow up on the issue.
