Judith Basin County Fairboard Minutes

March 14th, 2017

The March 14th meeting was called to order by Powell Becker at 7:15pm.  In attendance were Powell Becker, Bruce Neumann, Sigrid Deegan, Dawnita Sampsel, Jason Oltrogge (phone), and Katie Hatlelid

Jason moved and it was seconded to approve the minutes, motion passed.

There were no announcements or public comment.

Old Business:

Fairgrounds Improvements:

                Barn expansion – Jason contacted several contractors with bid requests for the new barn.  ARC Construction was the only one that responded.  This bid was $25,000 for the building erected. 

                Electric bid- Basin electric put the bid for the service hookup, wiring, and outlets at $6,400.

                Panels- Katie followed up with WRS in Billings, and it would be $20,000 for 60 gates, 76 divider panels, and the wall anchors. 

                                Jason moved and it was 2nd to accept all three bids and move forward with the fundraising portion of this project.  Motion passed

Grass: Dawnita and Katie were appointed to a committee to handle the grass.

                Scale Inspection: Katie had a couple bids to inspect the scale that is at the fairgrounds for use at the weigh-in this year.  Bruce moved and it was 2nd to accept the B & L Scales, Inc. bid to come inspect it for $125 plus some mileage.

                Bylaws:  The commissioners have accepted and adopted the bylaws as laid out by the Fairboard. 

 

New Business:

Fair Dedication – Bruce moved and it was 2nd to dedicate this year’s fair to Georgia Bingham.  Motion passed

Fair Schedule – approved

Fair judges – approved

Next meeting date – March 27th 7pm, to discuss and submit grant applications
